This two-day course is intended for pharmacists who wish to become licensed as consultant pharmacists and consultant pharmacists who need consultant recertification credit to maintain their license. This course will prepare future consultant pharmacists for the board required licensure exam. The course content consists of a comprehensive study of laws, regulations, and procedures for pharmacists who want to consult in a nursing facility, hospital, or other work environments that require the services of a consultant pharmacist.

This course will achieve the following:

  • Prepare pharmacists to serve as consultants in nursing homes and hospital pharmacies

  • Provide pharmacists with knowledge of the responsibilities of a consultant pharmacist

  • Prepare pharmacists to develop quality systems for assuring safe drug delivery and patient monitoring

  • Teach pharmacists readiness for AHCA inspections.
