Diabetes is becoming an increasingly common and complex disease state to manage. This four part course provides a comprehensive review and guide to the management of diabetes. Part one provides a review of pathophysiology and epidemiology of diabetes, as well as discussing preventive measures. Also covered is diagnosis, goals of therapy, and monitoring of diabetes based on current guidelines and clinical trials. Part two focuses on patient education, including nutrition, exercise, self-monitoring of glucose, medication administration, among other topics.

In part three, all of the different classes of diabetes medications are discussed in detail along with algorithms and practical approaches to managing diabetes. Part four reviews the various complications and co-morbidities associated with diabetes. Preventative and treatment strategy discussions are included. Finally, cases are provided for you to practice applying your knowledge and skills to various situations.
