Course Overview
This course is accredited for three hours of CPE credit and consists of four parts:

2. Course material
3. Exam
4. Course evaluation
Learning Objectives
Pharmacists
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Define Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
- Describe disease epidemiology
- Recognize modes of transmission including transmission between healthcare workers and patients
- Identify infection control procedures, including universal precautions
- Classify differences between related infections including tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C
- Select preferred therapies to an individual’s clinical management
- Recommend evidence-based methods for HIV/AIDS prevention including post- and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PEP and PrEP)
- Adhere to Florida laws regarding testing, confidentiality of test results, and patient treatment
Completion Requirements
Students must complete the final exam with a score of at least 70% and submit a course evaluation. The University of Florida College of Pharmacy will report CPE credit to CPE Monitor and CEBroker when applicable. If you would like a paper statement of credit, you may print it from your NABP e-profile.
